Share your good news

By Small Biz Survival

Each Friday, I open the Brag Basket for the weekend. It’s designed as a fun place for you to share your projects and accomplishments. But you can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.

Think that bragging is a bad thing? Read how Tony explains the Brag Basket.

The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it’s true that I love small town brags!)

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! (Don’t copy and paste an ad, though, OK?) You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

Last week I went with Becky to Hutchinson Kansas on a blogger fam tour and as a result I have started my very own blog! come follow http://www.Okiejontheroad.blogspot.com and see where I have been and where I am going next. My lifetime goal is to say “I’ve been everywhere” and I’ll probably specify “in the US” along with that! But you never know!

I’m going to SOBCon! I got 4 companies to sponsor me, I’m prepared (mostly) for the trip. I also planted 18 lavender plants this week with my dad (means I planted them, he watched). Little things for the brag basket – but believe me, those little things add up!

Oh yeah, and I picked up a new client for http://www.readhampton.com – very exciting stuff going on over there.

Go, Jeanne, go! You are really on fire with new ideas since you got back!

Deb, little things add up. And let me tell you this, wrangling four sponsors to get yourself to SOBCon is no little thing! Congrats to you.

I start my summer job the first week of May. The people there are like my family. I have taken two (three if you count New Years) coaster trips this year already and it is not even May yet. I am wrapping up plans for Midwest Autumn Airtime and things are going well.

On Earth Day, I bought ten reusable totes for my first ten customers. Most of them appreciated it and did not realize it was Earth Day. Mission Accomplished.

Our school was named an Apple Distinguished School which got it mentioned in Forbes magazine and many other pubs. Harvard called and wants to send people to see how we do it. A pretty cool week.

I was interviewed on the phone yesterday by a MSNBC.com columnist relating to my job search strategies. That’s good news!

I lived through it. :-) Nah, it was better than that – great stuff on the client front with amazing coverage for a huge announcement all based off strategy I recommended – and then executed. The bad was there, but managed to a positive outcome and I’m looking forward to good things learned from the situation. Oh and best of all – my 11-mo old daughter started walking! That’s the best brag of all.

Well, I’m new to this site and to blogs, but learning fast so I guess that’s my first brag. Next, I’m also taking a continuing education class in internet writing and entered my story in a small business contest for a $25,000 grant. Chances may be small (pun intended), but the accomplishment was the writing. Feel free to take a look.

Thanks for letting me participate. It’s fun!
