Here’s a reply that came in via email:

My name is Sheryl Corr, and I’m on the board of Perquimans Arts League, a non-profit community arts council in Northeast North Carolina. While our arts council has been in existence for over 20 years, it rented a space with no street-front presence. Last week, we signed a contract on our own building on the main street in Historic Hertford. Unfortunately, the building has no wiring, plumbing or HVAC, but it will be an awesome art space when it is renovated! Our vision is that it will help to reinvigorate the downtown area and encourage more businesses to open.

Your blog is most helpful, and has given us a number of useful suggestions. Keep up the good work!

    Sheryl

And just look at this gorgeous building she shared a photo of. It’s going to be terrific for the arts league.

This is a beautiful structure that looks so inviting, I just want to walk in and look around! Congratulations on the purchase! I wish you much success!

I’m also imagining all the cool things you can do even before the building is rehabbed, or even during the work.

Temporary exhibitions, performances, pop-ups, receptions, art in the windows, activities on the sidewalk…

Think how cool it will be to put the space to immediate use!

Howdy!
