A Brag Basket, in honor of friends

By Small Biz Survival

The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one August 24-26, 2012. Have some good news this week? Put it in the Brag Basket.

I’m off to see friends this week, so let’s hear it for friends in the Brag Basket!

Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.

What can you do in the Brag Basket?

  • introduce yourself
  • share some great news from this week
  • congratulate a friend
  • laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
  • applaud for each other

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.

This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

Just have to BRAG about our mutual great friend Jeanne C today! She just finished online program to become certified QuickBooks pro advisor (yes I know that SOUNDS like an advertisment – but it is NOT – she is simply doing self training/skill enhancement). This is extra impressive because only next week Jeanne has a birthday where she turns a magic number that she could retire – but INSTEAD – chooses to keep on LEARNING and growing! That is why she has always been 1 of my fav mentors!

this week I completed the QuickBooks Pro Advisor course for 2011 and am now a certified advisor. In the next week I will upgrade that to 2012. having this certification will greatly enhance my ability to assist my small business clients in Northwest Oklahoma.

Yay Jeanne! Congratulations on your continued learning.

I had the pleasure of meeting an amazing circle of new friends while in Philadelphia a few weeks. I am enjoying getting to know them better since then via Facebook and such. The back story is at http://www.doitmyselfblog.com/2012/going-the-distance-to-conquer-the-rocky-steps/.
