I am back for the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

I’ve been away at the London #140conf, but I’m back and it’s time for Brag Basket!

Every week, I open a Brag Basket, so you can introduce yourself or share some good news. So speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.

It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

This particular basket is open from Nov. 20-Nov. 22, 2009.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. You tell something great about your week, or you give plaudits to someone who did good stuff this week. Or you celebrate a terrific failure. It’s not an ad; it’s a conversation with friends. So jump in.

New to SmallBizSurvival.com? Take the Guided Tour. Like what you see? Get our updates.

    Hi Becky,

We’re excited at Wendy’s Party Treats because we’ve implemented a new content management system on our website using WordPress & a Headway theme. Now Wendy can add content without my direct assistance. She’s even learning to resize photos with Photoshop! In short, our team is becoming more technologically advanced, and this harried tech guy couldn’t be more pleased!

We’re also working our second year of promoting Wendy’s Coffee & Cookie club. We had a great year with it last year, with several businesses using it for corporate gifts that remind the recipient of them throughout the year. She mails these out monthly, isn’t that a cool idea?

Bill, that is a cool idea! I hope some other folks adapt it for their own businesses. Big congrats to Wendy on learning all the new skills! Yay!

Bragging on my wife and I. We’ve joined a gym and are actually going there and working out. No big results yet but here’s hoping.

I reserve the right to brag more. :)

I am on the board of Duende Drama & Literature, an organization that brings plays and stories to our schools and communities. Last night we participated in a local casino’s “grab for cash” and scored $4,480 – a casino record! The secret? We recruited a “grabber” who is a former high school basketball star and current juggler. Big, juggler’s hands and great hand-eye coordination. Thanks, Tom and thanks Black Oak Casino.

Greg, who knew it was all in getting the right person?? Congratulations on doing good for your excellent cause.

    Hi all,
I’m bragging on my wife, Cynthia, who is the blogger in the family. Her health blog at EssentialOilsforHealing.com is such a great resource for those of us who have an aversion to the traditional medical offerings and need alternative information. I use her expertise every day for all sorts of things!

Bill, sounds like a neat specialty. Thanks for bragging!

Did I mention I was elected at the beginning of the month to my first bid for public office? In January, I commence a 2-year term as city councilor in Newburyport, Mass.

Ari, you just did! Congratulations. That is front line community involvement!
