Jump into the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

Each Friday, I open the Brag Basket for the weekend. It’s designed as a fun place for you to share your projects and accomplishments. But you can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.

The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it’s true that I love small town brags!)

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

I had this idea to do a bloggers fam tour in Hutchinson Ks and thought I knew enough cool people that would help me pull it off with only 3 months prep. I was right. Thanks!!!

    Hi Becky,

I am really excited that Network Solutions along with the University of Maryland conducted a new Small Business Success Index. Your readers can see the results of the survey and see how they score at http://www.growsmartbusiness.com . 2 things that personally struck me as remarkable from the survey are that Small Business owners take good care of their customers no matter how the economy is . There is optimism among Small Business even if the media is full of not so good news:)

    Thanks,

    Shashi

I pushed past my comfort zone and signed up as a mentor for Google Summer of Code. If people are going to treat me like an expert, I should at least act like one!

Shashi, thanks for sharing the index. With all the headlines, it’s good to hear from real small business owners. You have launched several great things this year for small biz.

Mike, there is good reason why people treat you like an expert. Congrats on stretching yourself!

I promised three brags in a row didnt I? :-) Our first workshop was last night! Let me say if it could go wrong – it did – speaker had family emergency and couldn’t make it and no Wifi access for presentation! Then one of the attendees volunteered to speak for about 20 minutes ON THE TOPIC! Everyone was so excited and had a great time! By the time she was finished we had moved to Plan C and we were able to show a video.
We took your advice and did a small Cheerleader event with friends and family first – instead of the big blow out! What a great idea. We learned so much and it really was a success. Thank you so much Becky!
Look out for our Web site launching April 1st!!!

Thank you! To be honest it feels like an epic achievement and I’ve been so lucky to share my journey with so many friends through the reach of the internet. A wonderful feeling indeed :-)
