The Brag Basket is open! This one is for May 9-11, 2014
What can you do in the Brag Basket?
- introduce yourself
- share some great news from this week
- congratulate a friend
- applaud for each other
- confess your undying love for rural places
How do you join in?
- Below this post is the comment section. Add your brag there.
- If you are reading this by email, just reply to the email with your brag. I’ll add it to the comments.
Don’t like to brag? Just share some good news for yourself or a friend.
Do you have to be from a small town? Well, no, not really. Just don’t make it an ad. I delete the ads that people stick in here. If you talk more about the people involved than the things, you’ll be fine.
It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

Thanks to the donations of Wilbur Ellis (inc.), The city of Redfield and Spink County. We now have a permanent weather site in Spink County South Dakota.
You can see the page here:

Congratulations to Spink County, and cheers to Wilbur Ellis and the city and county! Thanks for sharing, Rick.
Kudos to the kids who donated their class trip money to help tornado victims in Quapaw, OK – and to all the donors who returned the favor and recognizing the pay-it-forward opportunity by making a big donation back to the kids and the school. http://www.newson6.com/story/25414719/quapaw-students-who-donated-class-trip-money-get-suprise-of-their-own
Cheers to the kids and the donors! Thanks for sharing this one, Dan.
I love hearing stories like that, Dan. When people complain about “kids these days…” they’re just looking in the wrong place!
And what a nice thing for the community to do (rewarding these young people) in return. Just a great story all around. Thanks for ending my weekend on a high note!
