The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one May 31 – June 2, 2013.
What good news will you add to the brag basket?
Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.
What can you do in the Brag Basket?
- introduce yourself
- share some great news from this week
- congratulate a friend
- laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
- applaud for each other
Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.
How does it work? You write a comment on this post. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.
This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) If you talk more about the people involved than thethings, you’ll be fine.
It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

This Saturday it will have been 25 yEARS ago that I started work as an intern at Walt Disney World in their Walt Disney World College Program. That experience changed my life forever. What I learned…the Disney Company knows how to do execute on the fundamentals better than most. Which makes it that much easier to put the cherry on top (Wow moments, magical moments, etc)
Thanks for the opportunity to share.

Scott, congratulations on taking those principles along with you for 25 years and making something with them.

I’d like to celebrate the official news we received yesterday that our local auto parts plant is doubling in size and planning to hire 100+ more local workers.
Hiro Nomura, the president of Toyotetsu, was happy to point out his company’s great relationship with our community, Norfolk County, and its citizens. Our Mayor Dennis Travale was thrilled, of course, as he likes to promote an “Open for Business” message that few could argue with.
Ultimately the announcement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of our local workforce, because without them, the announcement never would have been made!

Clark, congratulations to the Norfolk County team! You have so many assets to build on.

I want to brag on the folks at Mural In a Day Sonora, who have made it over all the bureaucratic hurdles to create a mural at our local farmer’s market. Now they just need to raise the money. They have a beautiful design by an award-winning muralist and a committed group of volunteers and I have no doubt that it’s going to happen. You can read the whole story, watch a video and see photos (and make a donation, if you’re so inclined) at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mural-in-a-day-sonora.

Greg, that is a terrific project! Congrats to everyone who is making it happen!
