Keep working in the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one Nov 16-18, 2012. Have some good news this week? Put it in the Brag Basket.

Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.

What can you do in the Brag Basket?

  • introduce yourself
  • share some great news from this week
  • congratulate a friend
  • laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
  • applaud for each other

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post. We all cheer, and everyone feels great.

This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) If you talk more about the people involved than the things, you’ll be fine.

It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

I’d like to brag on Jeanne Robertson and Carl Hurley as they end their “Double Funny” shows. 13 years and 160 shows.

They are living proof that changing and continuing to grow is vital for small businesses. Also they both mentor younger speakers, thus keeping the professional speakers world fresh and growing.

I’d like to brag on Becky first of all for putting together such a great event as the State of Now Smalltown Conference. Truly an amazing, wonderful experience!

Then I’d like to brag that my company, Flypt, is one of 10 finalists in the Small Business Challenge. Here’s hoping in a couple of weeks I can brag that we’ve won it!

I want to brag that my company, Business Success Unlimited had it’s first online Mastermind project this last week. After years of doing local masterminds, this was the first attempt at an online one where people from around the country (and yes, even Canada) got together to share in their business growth, knowledge, and education. It will run through February and we had an awesome group of people join in the discussion, fun and have now started the relationship building process.

Nancy, congratulations on your group. I’m a big believer in connecting with peers this way.
