The Brag Basket is our tradition of sharing. The basket is always free and open all weekend, this one Nov 18-20, 2011.

Oops, the Brag Basket was a bit behind schedule this week. (You can’t rush quality.) Photo by hbarrows. |
Don’t hold back because of that word, “brag.” When you hold back, you hide your good news and accomplishments that might inspire others. Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing.
What can you do in the Brag Basket?
- introduce yourself
- share some great news from this week
- congratulate a friend
- laugh about something wonderful that you tried that failed
- applaud for each other
Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. We all cheer, and everyone feels great. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.
How does it work? You write a comment on this post.
This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

Hi, this is Daisy McCarty. I’ve been doing freelance writing for about 4 years through sites like Elance and Guru. I just launched my own business website (www.freelance-text.com) a couple of weeks ago.
On Thursday, I got my first contact from a prospective client. During our meeting, he told me the things he liked about my site that made him choose my company over the competition. It was great to get direct feedback like this early on. It reassured me that my marketing approach is on target for the type of clients I want to attract. I’m super excited that my business is growing! Thanks for providing a place where I can share my good news.
Congratulations, Daisy! May this be the first of many.
I’d like to brag on my husband Darrell who is juggling teaching computer classes at three locations, while relying on public transit, in cold, wet weather. I am proud of him!
Three cheers for Darrell!
I was named a Harvest Hero by High Plains Journal for my hay drive! http://www.harvestheroes.com
Carrie, congratulations. Your hay drive has touched my heart, and many others. Thank you.
If you folks don’t know, Carrie organized her neighbors in Wisconsin to donate hay, then arranged transportation, and brought it all the way to the drought-stricken southern plains to give to ranchers in desperate need. There are a lot of people who are extremely grateful for what she did.
