What wonderful news will you choose to share this week? The basket is open all weekend, from February 11-13, 2011.

Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing. It’s here so you can introduce yourself, share some good news, or congratulate a friend.

We’re finally under way with the 140 Characters Conference – Central Sierra, a “local” 140Conf, to be held May 24th in beautiful Twain Harte, CA. I have you to thank, Becky, for introducing me to the 140Conf concept and welcoming me so warmly to the event in Hutchinson. We have quite a challenge in front of us to rise to that level of achievement.
We are still a few days away from an official website with online ticket sales but please visit our Facebook page to learn more about the event. It’s will be a great time of year in the Central Sierras (Yosemite, Gold Country, wineries and more) and we’d be glad to have anyone attend who wants to make the trip west.

We just sent a small sampling of our customers an invitation to make comments about our service. The positive feedback we got from folks who sent us their testimonials, pictures and stories of how they grew their business on Halloo’s small business phone systems was really encouraging and uplifting. We originally did it as a marketing exercise, but seeing/reading the human element was such a positive experience for all of us – and a reminder of why we do what we do.

Greg, congratulations! I’m excited to see what you all create with the concept. I keep wondering if I can find a way to come out and visit!
Halloo, welcome to the brag basket. Congratulations on making a connection with your customers. It really is all about the people. So remember to comment with your personal name, like this: Benny Goodman, Halloo Com. We like to keep it all about people here, too. Thanks.

Well finally made it back to the BragBasket. Can’t really brag about my first tweet in Portugese cuz you are the one who clued me in to googleTranslate. I’m kind of proud of progress made in my online life. Learning a lot from so many sources – always good to hear that people in Hong Kong and London are enjoying my Chopin playing. It is like another dimension of existence. During my very first blogchat someone made the suggestion that anyone can start a chat group- so after dragging my feet a while I got MozartChat going and that was a real success so it spawned BachChat which @eddissimo is hosting –
Life is good. I saw a bird in flight today which looked as it got closer like maybe a bat-then I saw it was a leaf- wind wasn’t doing its usual Oklahoma thing, just being carried about by the “air-current” – I thought – that’s how it must work with God – can’t be seen except through the workings of what can be seen, sometimes people.
Well that’s it.
Life is good.
Thanks for the lots of assistance you have given me as I navigate the brave new world of the internet!

Wayne, you are always doing great things. Some of us may contribute an idea, or give you a nudge, but you go make them happen! Cheers to you!

Good morning, All! I am new here, so here’s my basket contribution for today…
A year ago, we took over a small B&B in rural North GA. The house has alot of history tied to the area & industry and is featured in the history chronicles. The first part of my 2013 Resolution is to uncover all the history about the builder (1890’s) and the family who bought it from him and lived there up until about 20 years ago. I’ve been obsessed with searching online and have found some great information already.
My second 2013 Resolution is to start a blog for the Inn. I created an account a few months ago, but have yet to post anything. The set-up & tweaking were time-consuming, so I quit.
But, renewed energy coming from my research has fueled the blogging desire. I now know what my initial content will be – the results of my research. So, I’m excited to have a direction, a platform and an audience to share this wonderful information.
I look forward to learning from all of you as we try to market ourselves to the tourists and earn the trust of the locals. Small towns are new to us city girls, so we can use all the help we can get =)
