Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing. I started this so you can introduce yourself, share some good news, or congratulate a friend.
The basket is open all weekend, from August 20-22, 2010.
Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. We all cheer, and everyone feels great. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.
How does it work? You write a comment on this post, email me, tweet me, or comment on Facebook. You tell something great about your week, or you give applause to someone who did good stuff this week. Or you celebrate something wonderful that you tried that failed.
This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

Books on my mind lately.
My friend and colleague on Biznik.com, Elke Siller Macartney, has published her first book, “Downloading a Friendly Universe.” I am so proud of her.
And my first ebook is selling! Always scary putting your stuff out there.
Becky McCray says
Congratulations to Elke! And to you, Judy!

This week, I left Matterhorn Marketing to (re)start my own business.
So I want to brag a little about the guy that is Matterhorn Marketing, Pat Strader.
Pat is an SEO. More than that. Pat is a downright bombproof SEO, a pre-google SEO, a guy-who-knows-what-you-need SEO. And guys like that are tough to find.
But that’s not what makes him special. What makes him special is that he’s dedicated. When you hire Pat, you’ve got a guy in your corner. You’ve got a tireless worker. You’ve got someone who will help devise your strategies and show you results.
But more than anything else, with Pat you’ve got someone who’s trustowrthy. I learned a lot about digital marketing while working with Pat, but I learned more about character.
Pat Strader, and what he’s done with Matterhorn Marketing, deserves to be bragged about. Thanks, Becky, for the chance to do that.

Ben, that is a terrific testament to Pat. Thank you for sharing it, and best to you on the (re)new venture.

Jennifer Wojcik and I have been accepted to speak at BlogWorld. We’re pretty darn excited about that! (And of course, we’ll get to see you there too –and that’s fun!!!)
Becky McCray says
Congratulations, to you and Jennifer! It will be great to see you there, and I hope to catch your talk, too.

We’re currently interviewing for the 2nd year of our DCP Internship Program – aimed at teaching students the skills they’re not learning in the classroom, preparing them for life after school, and developing young entrepreneurs.
While it’s not the most profitable, it is certainly rewarding. A very fair trade-off!
Becky McCray says
Congratulations, Dan! I love that you are teaching your future entrepreneurs!
