Come on in to the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

Even though I call this the Brag Basket, it’s not really about bragging. It’s about sharing. I started this so you can introduce yourself, share some good news, or congratulate a friend.

The basket is open all weekend, from June 25 – 27, 2010.

Speak up and add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. We all cheer, and everyone feels great. It lets you meet each other a bit. Reading each others’ stories brings us a bit closer to being a community.

How does it work? You write a comment on this post, email me, tweet me, or comment on Facebook. You tell something great about your week, or you give applause to someone who did good stuff this week. Or you celebrate something wonderful that you tried that failed.

This is not an ad. (I delete the ads.) It’s a conversation with friends. So jump in. And remember to cheer for each other.

    My “brag” (and also heart-happy checking in!) is while I write constantly, love social media such as in Twitter, Facebook, linked-n, the whole idea of interactive, mixed media for communicating and learning….

    I’ve truly been seriously “blog-phobic.”

    As in…not at all willing – though definitely interested.

    So…last week Connie Reece (@conniereece) made me too good an offer to refuse. She asked me to write with HER!

    Woot! It’s just been an amazing, whole new life this week in terms of realizing I’ve reams, literally hundreds of pounds (I print out a LOT of what I’ve written) – and probably 25 binders of original IP. It’s helped me train over 3000 bright and capable people in my industry, it’s been royally quoted from in the books of others, on and on.

    So…while I’m not yet formally blogging, I can now see that happening.

    Interim, three additional, brilliant friends (2 of them even brand-new and mostly because of Connie, for sure!)

    * @mackcollier is offering to help, the godfather and marvelous shepherd of #blogchat on Sunday eves;

    * Lisa Petrilli (@lisapetrilli) a fabulous, fairly new talent emerging rapidly now within social media;

    * Tom Parish as in @tparish, who’s talented beyond measure both with people-skills, a marvelous capability for LISTENING between the lines for what people can best use to create an experience with the support of mixed media…(and much else I’ll let Tom describe!)

    When the brag basket next opens, I hope, hope to be also taking them about what this group and I decide to bring forth — together — in the world.

    Thanks for the opportunity…and this idea, by the way, Becky, is definitely one of the brag’s of the century! What a truly relevant AND brilliant human in the best sense you are. ;)

    Sherry, you are all day awesome. So glad to hear you’re seeing the potential to use blogging to share your knowledge in a new way. That Connie Reece is quite the connector and encourager!

    And thank you. Truly.

    After having had a number of personal blogs over the years, I finally decided that I need to focus my attention on the needs of my business and its clients. This week, I launched a blog for webdancers, which will feature information on managing online presence and tools for business. The blog will also feed a new newsletter (thank you MailChimp) that I have committed to publishing “irregularly”.

    Please come by and take a look. Act quickly and you can be the first to leave feedback.

    Sherry, you beat me here! LOL I’m excited about our collaboration. And Becky, don’t tell Sherry, but she’s about to become a podcaster as much as a blogger. I have big plans for her. :-)

    And oh, by the way, I picked up a new client. Always good news!
