Did you make the Brag Basket this week

By Small Biz Survival

Did you make the Brag Basket this week? All you have to do is add yourself or another deserving soul in the comments. Share your projects and accomplishments. You can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.

Every week, y’all share great stories in the Brag Basket. Reading them is the highlight of my blogging week. I hope you enjoy reading about each other, as well.

The Brag Basket is open all weekend. (September 25-27, 2009 – I’m putting dates because sometimes a person will comment on an old basket by mistake.) Drop by any time and leave your good news in the comments.

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! Make it personal, and not just an ad. You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

BIG BRAG! Murrow’s FrameArt LLC was just approved for start-up funding and will be opening on the downtown square in Alva OK in mid-November! We are a custom picture framing shop and gallery and will have an assortment of art-related gift items in the shop, too. MANY THANKS to Becky McCray, Patti Wilber, and Jeanne Cole for their help and guidance as we developed our business plan. When you are in Alva, come by the shop in the Downtown Mall, 427 Barnes, Suite 1. If the lights are on, we’re there – trying to get ready for the start of business!

Maybe Murrow’s Frame Art LLC could host a http://www.smallbizsurvival.com fan club meeting someday? Finances permitting, I would make the trip. Might feel more like a family reunion for anyone who visits this site regularly!

Congratulations and best wishes for success.

Alright. I got a brag. We survived launching our iPhone app on Tuesday – http://www.i5labs.com/zing , along with the minisite. Now we just need a plan for generating some PR – so hopefully more to brag about next week!

I have to tip my hat to the town where I used to work. Woodbine, Iowa has hosted another successful “Applefest”. The yearly celebration of the apple harvest brings thousands of people to this rural community (population about 1200 give or take). The car show had a rumored 400 participants, the churches were hosting dinners, the school gymnasiums were both full with craft show exhibitors, the streets were lined with people and vendors, the weather was beautiful, and everyone had a good time.

Bobbie, imagine how much fun we could have at a reunion like that…

Jason, congrats on surviving the launch, and great luck to you on the PR!

Shannon, I just love little town events like that. They can strengthen a community and contribute so much to the local economy. Cheers to Woodbine, Iowa!
