The Brag Basket lets you share some good news

By Small Biz Survival

Each Friday, I open the Brag Basket for the weekend. It’s designed as a fun place for you to share your projects and accomplishments. But you can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.

Think that bragging is a bad thing? Read how Tony explains the Brag Basket.

The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it’s true that I love small town brags!)

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! (Don’t copy and paste an ad, though, OK?) You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

SPECIAL NOTE: I’m in transit on Friday, so I need YOU to cheer for each other, OK? Thanks! And, congrats in advance!

I’d like to brag on a project currently in pre-launch which my partner and friend Bradford Shimp and I launched this week, called iDea Anglers. It’s a collaborative online tool for small businesses, where business owners or inspired folks looking to get into business can bounce ideas off the top experts in all forms of business. Whether that be in branding, marketing, sales, business practices, design, finances, or software and hardware, we’ll help individuals turn their ideas and dreams into successful businesses. We’re bragging on the great positive response we’ve already received, and interest from those across the globe. This entire project stemmed from a few 140 character posts on twitter, Bradford and I are launching something great, without ever meeting in person or even talking on the phone. Social Media strikes again! Check it out! http://ideaanglers.com

    Hi Becky –

I’d like to brag about April. It was quite good for us. Most of our clients are seeing better days too.

I want to brag that I am sitting next to @BeckyMcCray at SOBCon and it’s refreshing! She has one of the best sense of humor, and I would only know this if we both didn’t engage IRL :)

Neenz, it is an honor to sit with you, and Sheila, Jon and Paul. We ARE the awesome table.

I’d like to RT Neenz here – GREAT to be at this table – and great to finally meet Becky face-to-face.

I want to brag on my little Rhode Island social media “girlfriend” @JanePorricelli. Today (Sunday May 3) she ran her *first* marathon (the 2nd Cox Sport Marathon in Providence) in 3:38 and qualified for The Boston Marathon next year. She finished #134 overall out of 728 entrants and #20 among the women! That is no mean feat, my friends. I’m so proud of her!

Huge congrats to Jane for such strong accomplishments! And, thank you, Joe, for bringing her by. Cheers!

I wanted to take a minute to brag about our store, The Silver Barn. This week we continued to post sales increases in excess of 40% over last year, made a TV appearance promoting repurposing furniture, a personal love of mine, and we ordering products thanks to relationships we built with folks on Twitter. We are thrilled with our Twitter relationship and see it growing as our website is “cleaned up”, connects to our blog and Twitter profile. Thanks for letting us brag!

You should brag about your store! You add a lot of value to Twitter. Congrats on all the positive attention you are earning!
