Each week, I open the Brag Basket. It’s designed as a fun place for you to share your projects and accomplishments. But you can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.
The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it’s true that I love small town brags!)
Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.
Hey, and by the way, I’d love to hear ideas for a new Brag Basket graphic or picture. What would you use for the brag basket image??

See what happens when you hang out at Chris Brogan’s site? Good connections happen, if you watch for them. This morning I found that damn redhead, bragging about her local chamber of commerce and her smart local dentist. Just one more reason I’m glad to call Chris a friend. :)

Hi Becky –
No brags today…. super busy, though perhaps that is something to brag about. Just wanted to say hi!

I’d like to do a little self back-patting and give kudos to our staff for having the patience to bear with me as I worked the last few weeks to launch a redesign of our monthly newsletter.

I want to brag up Lisa Hendrickson at Call That Girl! in Minneapolis who started a project called Project Link It Forward.
The project is all volunteer and focuses on trying to help people who are out of work learn how to utilize LinkedIn to help them to connect and find jobs. Recently the project was featured in the Star Tribune:

I am a volunteer on the project and I am truly impressed by Lisa’s dedication and she has really worked to make the project successful.
Great job Lisa!

(With a wink) I would use a picture/graphic of an industrial grade shovel. Honestly. Think about it.

Today we announced the winner of my client HomeAway’s Getaway contest, and I want to brag on the winner Emily O’Dwyer (Relax, Renew, Rejoice) for an excellent blog post entry about her family and having a reunion in Honduras.
Thanks also to Austin-based HomeAway for engaging in social media with this contest; I think they’ve been happy with the results.

Marco, howdy! Thanks for dropping in.
Mark, congrats to you, and your team!
Jeremy, what a great project! Compliments to Lisa for making a difference in the real-world, using these online tools. Also, thanks for all your recent comments, Jeremy.
Scott, I hope not! I try to make sure the brag basket is not about shoveling BS. I want it to be a chance for everyone to share positive things.
Sheila, congrats to Emily, HomeAway, and to you and Connie on the contest!

I want to brag on all the wonderful people who have contributed time, energy, money, talent to making Social Media Club Austin a success. This week’s meeting was our 2nd anniversary. We had a great crowd (about 75) and a venue big enough to hold them, thanks to Austin-based Vignette (VIGN).

Thanks, Connie! What a fantastic turnout! Congratulations to all the people who make it work.
