Each week, I open the Brag Basket. It’s designed as a fun place for you to share your projects and accomplishments. But you can also cheer for other people, give shout outs, congratulate, and even give someone a well-deserved pat on the back.
And it’s Christmas-time, people! Let’s fill the Brag Basket with joy.
The Brag Basket is open for everyone, whether from a small town, a big city, or anywhere in the world. (But it’s true that I love small town brags!)
Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission, and you don’t have to be from a small town. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

Yesterday we packed up our family of four adults, a picnic cooler full of cooked vegetables, a box of presents, a bottle of champagne and an apple pie and drove 3+ hours to Portland, Maine to have Christmas for my wife’s 90 yr. old mother in the “Guest Dining Room” of the nursing home she’s in. My brother-in-law bought a couple of pre-cooked rotisserie chickens and the kitchen staff at the home helped us warm everything up.
My mother-in-law is in the deepening stages of senile dementia, brought on by brain atrophy. Dreams and reality flow seamlessly into one another for her, and even her children are sometimes unrecognizable. But yesterday she seemed to have a sense of who everyone was, even her grandchildren, albeit hazily. We also didn’t hear much of what have come to be known as Grammie’s Flamers, for instance the stories about her 130 year-old millionaire boyfriend, or levitating automobiles.
As you can imagine, this results in a very mediocre dinner experience compared to what we can turn out in our kitchen at home, and as I said on Twitter yesterday, my mother-in-law will probably not even remember much today of our visit yesterday. But, after driving back home another 3+ hours and 200+ miles, I have to say we had one of most enjoyable Christmases ever, opening our presents last night, having done a hard day’s work for someone else.

Thanks, Mad Hatter.
Now, no one feel like you have to contribute such an amazing story. Joyful comments, big and small are welcome.

I’d like to brag about all the kids that are featured on http://www.KidsAreHeroes.com. This is a relatively new web site that features kids who give of themselves and inspire others to do the same. Some of the most inspiring and heartwarming stories that you’ll ever see. I am proud to be the cofounder along with my daughter, MaryMargaret, who is ten years old.

I’m bragging today about a content management app that I’m finally finishing! My developer and I have added some amazing new features that make it really easy for anyone to use, and I’m really excited to push it out to my clients’ websites.
I’m also spending the week in Myrtle Beach, SC, which I definitely can’t complain about!! Spending a nice week resting in the sun and sand.
Merry Christmas all, happy New Year!

Gabe, congratulations to you and MaryMargaret. Kids *are* heroes! Good for you both!
Chris, I’m excited about that content management app! (Chris works with me on a couple of projects, and he does excellent work!) I am, however, completely jealous of Christmas on the beach! Enjoy!

Here’s my 12/31 brag: In the last week, my site, FundraisingCoach.com and my book “Ask Without Fear!” were featured in a statewide publication MaineBiz (http://mainebiz.biz) AND in The Rotarian, a magazine sent to 500,000 Rotarians in North America!!

Marc, late brags are still good! Congratulations on more great attention. You deserve it, sir!
