Share something positive in the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

brag basketEach Friday, I open the brag basket as a fun place to give someone a pat on the back, brag, or promote yourself and your projects.

Last week, we heard from Lorna, Barbara, Colleen, Sheila, and Tom.

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission or anything. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

Next week at this time, I’ll be on the way to Las Vegas, to speak at BlogWorld Expo! My co-presenter is David Bullock, and we’re talking about streamlined plans to improve your business. This couldn’t have happened without the help of Liz Strauss. Thanks Liz and David!

I’m attending the annual Rensellaerswyck Seminar in Albany, where prominent Dutch colonial historians meet. I’m announcing to them the debut of my new (profit-seeking) blog, DutchNewYork.com, on Sept. 22. Which means there’s no turning back! *gulp*

I wanna brag on Whitney Hoffman who goes out of her way to be helpful to everyone. With the LDPodcast she takes that even further and helps parents of children with learning disabilities.

She gives her time as a wife, mom and great friend.

Hi Becky – how are you? After a tremendous amount of hard work we managed to launch trainforhumanity.org on Tuesday. Of course, right after that my internet died for three days…but it’s back now. :)

Train for Humanity is a non-profit humanitarian organization created and founded by bloggers (most notably Leo Babauta of Zen Habits). During phase one we are hoping to raise awareness and funds for orphans and refugees in Darfur.

During phase two we hope to add to the number of ‘blogger/athletes’ and support other humanitarian causes as well.

    You have a great weekend!

Becky– you and David together– wow! Wish I could be there!

My big accomplishment this week was a story on a Paralympian and a career piece on a Deaf Engineer.

Great choice, Chel! Whitney is a great person!

And, um, don’t you have something of your own to brag about? http://chelpixie.com/blog/2008/09/12/pixie-30/

Karen, thanks! David and I will have fun. Congrats on your great writings!

First brag comes to Becky and David for their presentation at BlogWorld Expo. Way to go! It’s very deserved.

Second brag comes to me: I cleaned my office. And my mind of all that clutter!

Thank you, Zane. I’m excited to get to meet you at BlogWorld Expo!

Congrats on the clean office! I’ll bet we all could stand to do some of the same! It does make a difference, as you know.
