Jump into the Brag Basket

By Small Biz Survival

brag basketEach Friday, I open the brag basket as a fun place to give someone a pat on the back, brag, or promote yourself and your projects.

And I’m finally back!! You folks had some great brags while I was away! Thank you for keeping it all alive and encouraging each other.

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week? You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission or anything. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

I’m bragging on Maesz. She kept an eye on everything, responded to comments, kept things moving, and even babysat my business while I was gone. Thanks, Mom! :)

I’m also bragging on Zane, Jeanne “OkieJ” and Jon for posting great stuff while I was gone, and contributing even more through the comments. What an outstanding team!

Brag: I helped spread the word about the detention of Free Tibet protestors in China, including hooking a NYtimes reporter up with some useful info, and publicizing the situation via social media at jonnygoldstein.com and other places. Yay, me! Seriously, it felt good to get involved. I know two of the protesters and want to see them (and the 4 others who I don’t know) back here safe and sound. Also, I think their cause is a good one.

Yay, Jonny! That is such a great thing to brag on, in so many ways. A social media success story, a personal accomplishment, and a cause you support. Great work!

My brag is not nearly as socially responsible as Jonny’s, although as a second-tier brag for me today, we did spend almost our whole episode #13 of PushMyFollow (http://pushmyfollow.com) on the arrest of bloggers in China.
But no, my main brag today is that Joey “Diamonds” Nigrelli and I took $25 each off Bobby “Wheels” Valenti and Tony “The Undertaker” Dinoto playing golf this morning. :)

    I’m bragging on ME!!!

Back in June I went to see Blondie perform in NYC. I got some nice pics at the concert and sent a link to the publisher of “The Blondie Review” the only band authorized fanzine. Now, I know the publisher, I figured he’d use a photo or two. A day or two later I get an email asking me for a bio and headshot because he wants to use one of my photos on the cover…

EEP!! The Blondie Review issue 31 came in the mail this week. I got a whole lot more than the cover.

    Hi Becky!

My Family Travel blog has now shifted to a new URL and new template; still have a lot of sorting and tidying to do, but I’m excited about it.

Chaz, I remember how excited you were about that concert, and now you should be double excited! Wow!

Sheila, that new template is looking good! Of course, all that excellent content deserves the best showcase. :)

We got news that Linden Lab has approved Frozen Pea Fund to buy a nonprofit island in Second Life. Great news — but now we have so much work to do to make it a reality. For this weekend, anyway, I’ll just brag and think about the work later. :-)
