It’s OK to brag

By Small Biz Survival

brag basketEach Friday, I open the brag basket as a fun place to give someone a pat on the back, brag, or promote yourself and your projects.

Tony Katz explained why this matters:

It’s ok to have success, it’s ok to have great things happen in your life and it is ok to talk about those things. Embrace the good things that happen and the work that it took to get the good things to happen. Then, focus on more good things, and make them happen. The vision is only achieved through the action.

Last week, Cheryl bragged on three big influencers. Sharon came over at Big Bright Bulb’s urging, when she made a top 60 list. Connie had lots of progress to share. My friend Rod Murrow bragged on our Northwestern Creativity Project, and Todd bragged on his missus!

Will you put something in the Brag Basket this week?

You can brag on a friend, your own project, yourself, others, anything! You don’t need special permission or anything. Just leave a comment right here. There’s no deadline, so you can brag anytime during the weekend, and I’ll open a fresh Brag Basket each Friday.

I’d like to brag about our completely redesigned workplace blogs (click on my name). On a related note, we’ve decided to do our own special Friday-specific feature on these blogs: the “Friday Nugget,” where we take some cutting room floor content — workplace best practice info that didn’t make it into one of our articles or webinars — and broadcast it to the world.

We just signed on with a great blogging platform and are super excited to be getting some dialogues going with new and familiar visitors alike!

I’d like to brag about my new theme. It’s already making people browse deeper into my site. :)

Sharon, that is a success! I love it when you can measure results like that. Congratulations!

    Becky,

I want to brag about the successful event In the DC area for small business organized by Network Solutions and DC media Makers where we had Jonny Goldstein interviewing Rohit Bhargava – Author of Personality Not Included. The networking connected local small businesses with social media experts so they can leanr from each other. Details here http://solutionsarepower.com/2008/rohit-bhargava-and-network-solutions-beat-back-the-monsoons/.

    Thanks,

    Shashi

Congrats Mark & Sharon on two great redesigns! Sharon – I like your customization of the Premium News theme. I’ve recently purchased it and will be releasing my variation soon. ;)
