It’s time for the weekly Brag Basket. This is your chance to promote yourself, your small business, your successes and your beautiful failures.
What’s the point? To remind you that every single week you should take time to evaluate your performance, to learn some lessons, and to plan for improvement.
So go ahead; brag a little!

I’ll go first! Not only did Maesz do an awesome job of blog-sitting while I was away, but we also picked up some compliments that I would like to share.
J. Timothy King wrote this astounding opening paragraph:
The world’s shortest marketing plan is not Kelly Odell’s, referenced at Guy Kawasaki’s blog. And with all respect to Guy, his version 2.0 is not actually a practical marketing plan template. A better alternative is Becky McCray’s over at Small Biz Survival.
Wow! I am stunned to have one of my works considered a better alternative to Kawasaki’s! Wow!
Another thought leader, Zane Safrit, found a couple of my posts interesting enough to kick off an essay of his own on rural economic development. This is exactly the kind of discussion I hope that this blog can start!
My last brag is that the QuickBooks Community has added us to their list of Blogs for Women (Business Owners), up there with Anita Campbell and the re:invention blog. Astonishing!

I forgot to include how the QuickBooks Community described us:
Small Biz Survival provides practical, actionable and meaningful posts on the joys and challenges of running a small business.
OK, now I’m finished! Really!

Well, if you’re really asking people to brag, I may as well introduce myself and my blog.
I’m part of a coaching and development consultancy. But I’ve written a bunch of books on topics such as EQ, networking, job hunting, and office politics. And I’m writing a book on entrepreneurship next:
The Rules of Entrepreneurship
Anyway, here’s my blog too:

Yes! I really am asking you to brag, and you certainly have plenty to brag about. Your entrepreneurial sprirt really shows!
Thanks for sharing.

I’m ready to brag. I’ve reached out to more famous (in the spaces that matter to me) people and had conversations with more of them than I’ve ever done in my whole life. I’ve talked on the phone with some of the biggest names on the web, and I’ve moved a few of those conversations into attendees to PodCamp.
I’ve rebuilt my business plan even more after a huge revelation, and I’ve really put my neck out there by asking people to consider joining in, even though the idea’s not fully public, nor fully baked.
I’m feeling pretty damned chipper, and thankful to know someone as great and entrepreneurial of mind as you, Becky.

Hi, Found your blog through LinkedIn, this week I’d like to brag about the fact that I’ve been doing some networking and I have had a few more people register to my site (littlemummy.com).
Brag over.
Becky McCray says
Chris, you have lots to feel chipper about! You are moving ahead! Hurrah! Sounds like it is really coming together for you. Double Hurrah!
Welcome, Erica! Good job on the networking, and congrats on the new members for your site! Keep reaching out! Thanks for joining us!
